Someone asked if she is in Nashville - Underrated YouTube Videos #1

Image
I'm starting a new blog series called "Underrated YouTube Videos". In this series, I will be discussing some of my most underrated YouTube videos. These are videos I think are really good, but YouTube's algorithm begs to differ. Smaller channels can go and create just a good content as larger channels and not get as many views. I'm hoping this blog series can help boost views for these videos. The first video in the series is: Some asked if she is in Nashville . This funny video stars Supriya Delgado. I chose my favorite TikToker, Massholemama , to be the voice actor for Supriya. (I took the audio from one of her TikTok videos  and used the audio from it to tell a story. The video had a naughty word, so I bleeped it out.) Supriya's dog, Blue, is sitting on the couch right next to her.  The Delgado family is in Brindleton Bay, not Nashville. When asked if she was in Nashville, Supriya responds by saying she is sitting on her "dog hair cover filled couch, g

Completing an Aspiration: Friend of the World - Post #11

Image
Summer goes knocking on some doors. For this blog post, I will be completing one of The Sims 4's aspirations. Aspirations are lifetime goals for Sims in The Sims 4. The aspiration I will be completing today is Friend of the World. I decided to use a Sim from one of the premade households to save time. The premade household I chose was BFF. Since Friend of the World is Summer Holiday's original aspiration, she has the gregarious trait. Gregarious Sims build friendly relationships faster.  Friend of the World has four milestones. There are many ways to complete this aspiration. I am showing everyone how I will be completing this aspiration. The first milestone is New in Town. I will be completing step one: Introduce Self to 10 Sims. The easiest way for me to complete this step is by visiting other households. While IRL it is socially unacceptable to show up at someone else's house uninvited, there is no penalty for doing so in The Sims 4. Summer and Alice just met. Once I di

The Sims 4 Scenario Playthrough: Too Many Toddlers - Post #10

Image
I have already completed the Too Many Toddlers scenario once and will be blogging about my experience doing the challenge. I find this challenge very frustrating mostly because of simulation lag. Certain tasks that I will assign to a Sim's queue, particularly a toddler Sim, will be cancelled. This is can be problematic when I want to complete the Too Many Toddlers scenario in as little time as possible. To begin the scenario, go to the main menu and click the New Scenario tab, then select the Too Many Toddlers scenario. A popup window will appear informing you of the scenario's requirements and outcomes. This scenario includes two household requirements as well as one possible outcome. You'll need to make a family of one young adult or older Sim and three toddlers. The scenario's goal is for all three toddlers to reach level 3 in four skills before their birthday. I decided to use the Childs household for completing the scenario. I then plopped them down into the pre-bu

Building a House for Extra Life Twitch Stream - Post #9

Image
Extra Life brings together thousands of gamers from all around the world to play games in support of their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. I'll be writing another blog on building in The Sims 4 today. I'll be creating a house for the Maxis Extra Life Twitch live stream. This is the house I built for the Maxis Extra Life Twitch stream's build tours. It was tough to decide what sort of house to build. I'm attending Delta College to get an Associate Degree in game development. I've been quite busy. I only learned about the Maxis Extra Life Livestream a few days ago and didn't have much time to prepare. I spent hours deciding what I wanted to build. First, I looked at floor plans, but downloading them would be too expensive.  Maxis Extra Life Livestream Schedule I choose to build a house that came with Welcome to Bloxburg. Roblox features a large selection of kid-friendly games. The focus of this live broadcast is on children. Welcome to Bloxburg cos

Who's Ready to Party? - Post #8

Image
Second Life's original haunted house (left). In The Sims 4, I created the haunted house (right). Who's ready to party? Of course, my Sims are! They need a good house to throw a good party, which I just built for their party. The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff adds a new lot type to the game - haunted houses. Spooky Stuff also added haunted houses to the game, though they weren't truly haunted and were simply ordinary residential lots. Spooky Stuff is all about throwing Halloween parties for teen and child Sims. Adult Sims are the intended audience for Paranormal Stuff. In a haunted house, cursed objects and specters will appear. What good is a party if there isn't a séance table? You've got to give your Sims a good fright! My Sim is ready to throw a party now that the house is fully furnished. The haunted house has been completely furnished. Lauren, my Sim, can invite guests and hire a caterer and bartender for her Halloween party. Despite the fact that this is a Halloween

Learning to Build Better Houses - Post #7

Image
Styled rooms are bundled under one roof. Floorplans are simple to create in small homes but more difficult to create in larger homes. I'm still interested in learning how to build better houses in The Sims 4. The first thing I'd like to improve is my floorplan. Floorplans must be carefully planned. When not done carefully, the house appears disjointed, as if I threw the rooms in at random. Many new Simmers do not bother with good floor planning. They simply construct a house with the bare necessities. The second thing I'd like to improve is my ability to construct more than just a box. I want the house to be as un-boxy as possible. One way to think creatively is to add extensions to the house. The roof placement will be the next challenge after I get the house as far away from boxy as possible. It was difficult to decide on a roof type. The accent roofs had to match the flow of the main roof. The third thing I'd like to improve is the roof. There are numerous roof types

What I Wish People Knew About The Sims 4 - Post #6

Image
One thing I wish people realized about The Sims 4 is that you can do whatever you want. (Well, not exactly anything you want, but you get my point.) Sims can interact with anyone. In real life, not everyone wants to talk to you, but in The Sims 4, anyone will talk to you. There are never any consequences for unexpectedly showing up at another person's door. If I show up at a friend's door uninvited, this will have an impact on my friendship. My friend may not want me to come back again or decide to end the friendship altogether. Sims do not have to worry about ruining their relationships when they show up uninvited. My Sim can knock and be welcomed inside. It is simple to form bonds with other Sims if one of them is not in a bad mood. Sims who are angry will want to hurt other Sims. Sims with the 'always welcome' reward trait are not bound by the rules of another household. This trait can be purchased with satisfaction points earned by satisfying their whims and desires
